2011

January

  • Speak to our city councilor, Glen Penner, and get him on board – DONE
  • Put park project map and information on website – DONE
  • Create standard message for asking for corporate sponsorship – DONE
  • Figure out how much money we can contribute to the project at this point – DONE

 

February

  • Advertise our intentions in the February newsletter (make newsletter longer if necessary; indicate we’re starting fundraising – DONE
  • Put out a donation jar at the DIP – DONE
  • Put up information about our project at the DIP – DONE

 

February – April

  • Get letters of support from St Augustine, Roland Michener, City Police, businesses in the area – DONE
  • Put a letter of support at the front office of each school that residents can come and sign – DONE

 

April – June

  • Send in Dakota Dunes Grant (due April 15/10 or July 15/10) –  DONE
  • Send in City Park Enhancement Grant (due June 1/10) –  DONE
  • Set date at June meeting for steak night and book it –  DONE 
  • Approach corporate sponsors for light sponsorship-  DONE 

 

July

  • Put out a donation jar at the DIP –  DONE
  • Put up information about our project at the DIP –  DONE

 

July – August

  • Print steak night tickets –

 

April – October

  • Start door-to-door campaign asking for donations – DONE 
  • Advertise our intentions again in the August newsletter & invite everyone to the AGM –  DONE
  • Put together display for the AGM – DONE
  • Start finding corporate sponsors to give cash or prizes to be raffled off at a community steak night –  DONE
  • Use all forms of free media to advertise our project –  DONE 

 

August AGM

  • Set up all project information for everyone to see  – DONE
  • Sell tickets for steak night – DONE

 

October, 2011 - January, 2012
  • Sell tickets for steak night door to door if needed – DONE
  • Receive City of Saskatoon approval of grant and project – DONE
  • Community steak night  & silent auction / raffle – January 14, 2012
  • Set up all project information for everyone to see – DONE 

 

Notes:

  • We will keep track of all donations in case this becomes a tax deductible project by the city
  • Set an end date for donations so we can submit our donations list to the city in case of tax deductibility of project
