Hello East College Park!
We’re into spring now and it feels great to brush off the
winter and get back outside. It’s time
for soccer and ball, time for the yard work to start and boy do we welcome
it. Your Community Association is
working on a lot of things as well, in preparation for the new park lights to
be installed this summer.
First of all, thank you to everyone who made the Sid
Buckwold Park Lighting Project a reality. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it many times, but this was a great
community initiative and the lights will shine far into the future. It is something we all can be truly proud of,
brag about and make sure everyone knows that you were a part of it. We’ll be having a huge celebration in the Fall
to commemorate the achievement and I want to see each and every one of you
there and shake your hands!
We are currently in dire need of volunteers to join our
Executive in the Fall. There are many of
us moving on, have become too involved in other activities and have moved away
from our community. Please take a minute
and think about what you can give back to your neighborhood. Every little bit helps, and many hands make
light work. It is truly a rewarding
experience and I wouldn’t have changed a thing from my time on the Board. Please contact me or any member of the
Executive if you are able to help. You’ll meet new friends, gain new experiences and really make our
community even better than it is!
We will be having our summer celebration with the Day in the
Park on June 17th at Sid Buckwold Park behind Roland Michener
School. Many of the classic play
opportunities for the kids as well as great cuisine and new fun activities are
being offered this year. It will be a
tremendous celebration of our neighborhood, accomplishments and Father’s
Day. I will look for you and take the
opportunity to chat and encourage your participation on our Community
Association for sure.
Have a safe and fun summer if I miss you at all the
different activities happening around our community. I can guarantee you I will see you before the
end of August at our AGM. Always
remember that East College Park is the best community to live in Saskatoon and
look out for each other. And greet each
other as friends, neighbors and fellow East College Park members.
